About our Fire Training courses
-
The fire courses consist of workshops in which formal instruction, practical demonstrations, exercises and assessment opportunities are given.
-
Our audio visual aids include PowerPoint and video presentations.
-
The training manual consists of modules. Learning objectives are stated for each module in the manual and learners are presented with course information and summaries to assist them achieve these objectives. The manual also contains self-assessment activities, which will help learners to monitor their progress.
-
Fire training is mainly a hands-on, practical course.
-
The course is concluded with formal learner assessment and each learner is required to extinguish a fire within a controlled environment. Every effort is made to ensure that assessment practices are relevant, transparent and fair.
-
Certificates will be given on successful completion of the course.
-
As part of IEFA’s ongoing support, fire teams are encouraged to participate in the fire competitions held every two years.
-
Courses are run at our training centre where there is ample safe parking. Alternatively courses may be run on site.

Fire Fighting Simulation
In order to overcome the problem of making fires in built up
areas, which is both illegal and very dangerous, IEFA has
acquired electronic fire fighting equipment that simulates a
real fire and tests the skills of the fire fighters to the utmost
on their technique in extinguishing various types of fires at
various levels of intensities. The practical side of fire training
is vitally important!.
