About Us
The Institute of Emergency First Aiders was established in 1987 by a member of the emergency services who saw, on a daily basis, a real and growing need for public education in emergency first aid procedures.
Since then IEFA has grown to offer training in first aid, fire emergencies, breathing apparatus and hazardous materials awareness to commerce and industry, sports organizations, schools, and general welfare organizations.

Mission
IEFA endeavours to provide a high standard of training and education in emergency procedures, at various levels, that will enable people from all sectors of society to cope confidently and effectively when faced with an emergency situation.
As part of IEFA’s ongoing support to learners, a first aid and fire competition is held every two years to give learners an opportunity to exercise and improve their skills and emergency response capabilities. Refresher courses are run on a regular basis to improve and maintain acquired skills.
